Entrepreneurship at NEOMA

NEOMA is a business and management school deeply involved in the entrepreneurial drive of its community. The Startup Lab was created to centralise and develop the school’s activities linked to entrepreneurship and innovation. Currently, composed of 3 Incubators and 2 accelerators, the Startup Lab provides students and graduates from the school with a 360° creative experience, ranging from generating ideas to supporting creation and then to the successful development of their company. This structure enables young creators to launch their entrepreneurial adventure serenely and optimises their chances to succeed.

On campus or remotely, the incubators provide the same quality support to all the project initiators. Entrepreneurs off the campus have access to personalised coaching (in French or in English) with videoconferences every month. They can also take part in or organise webinars to share best practices on creating a company with other projects in incubators worldwide. In order to enhance this cohesion between projects in the incubators, highly active discussion channels are devoted to them in slack.

Precise questions about the legal creation of the startup?  How to commercialise the product? Or the best way to launch efficient digital communication? With their “experts-in- residence”, the incubators provide advice on various topics from business experts. Thus, personalised appointments by videoconference enable project initiators to have concrete answers directly linked to their activity.

Furthermore, the incubators also offer the possibility for new project creators to benefit from mentoring with experienced business leaders. Advice, contacts, support… The advantages of mentoring are so obvious and the network of more than 65 000 Neoma graduates provides a wide range of experts both in France and abroad.

Joining NEOMA incubators means above all becoming part of an active community of entrepreneurs and motivated experts. Driven by the same desire to create, the project initiators in NEOMA incubators encourage each other, share their experiences and work together to take their projects further. The incubators’ network of alumni and experts provides beginners with the necessary expertise and guarantees that they will be supported by professionals each and every day.

Global Incubator: learning objectives

  1. To assess the strengths and weaknesses during the development of the startup project in another country, in a different culture
  2. To identify the key actors in the development of the startup in the host country and the essential reference tools required to carry out the project successfully
  3. To behave like an entrepreneur showing that you are proactive, persevering, able to challenge ideas and deal with unexpected events
  4. To identify potential risks and suggest a plan of action to find a solution
  5. To identify the investment required to launch the project as well as the return on investment

Global Incubator: incubation programme

  • Project feasibility study on the French market
  • Identification and solicitation of local stakeholders
  • Development of partnerships in France
  • Commercial development
  • Setting up and implementing a targeted communication strategy
  • Project funding study, contact with potential investors
  • Active participation in the life of the incubators: organisation of meetings, participation in events organised by the incubators, support for startups with little experience, integration of the notion “incubator” in all negotiations with partners if a deal may prove to be relevant for the other startups in the incubator.

In order to reach these objectives, international students with a project in the incubators have full access to the services provided by NEOMA incubators : access to equipped offices / workshops / experts-in-residence / participation in major events in the field of entrepreneurship / mentoring / personalised coaching / Web Lab / meetings with other startups in the incubator / access to a network of experienced entrepreneurs / sharing best practices with other projects in the incubators / offers from partners / competitions…
