Redbull Basement University: two students to represent France in the grand final!

Marion OBERT et Marion DILLEMANN are selected for the international final in Berlin. Their concept against food waste and junk food convinced the national jury.

Remember, October 11 on the NEOMA Business School campus in Rouen… The Startup Lab and the Déclic Entreprendre association welcomed teams from Redbull for a special day: Redbull Basement University.

What is it? Red Bull Basement University is an operation that invites students from 17 countries to dream up innovative concepts that contribute to improving campus life. The challenge is initially divided into national competitions. Then, the national winners are to meet in Berlin from 29 November to 2 December 2018 for the grand final that brings together actors from all over the world.

It is this next step that Marion Obert (PGE) and Marion Dillemann (GBBA), two NEOMA Business School students who won the national competition with their project Mon Miam responsable, a concept that addresses both food waste and student junk food, are about to take. The principle? To allow university restaurants to sell on their unsold items to students at a reduced price, allowing them to eat healthily at a lower cost.

An idea they are keen to defend in Berlin, even if it was not really expected: “Originally, we signed up for this contest as a challenge, to see what our idea was really worth. And then we received this amazing result! At first, we were in a bit of a panic. And then, finally, we really got caught up in the adventure!”

They are currently being monitored by Redbull coaches who are specialists in the development of business projects, meeting with experts to help them realize their concept and creating a first prototype. They have also been invited to develop this idea with the NEOMA Business School Incubators, to provide them with the best chances of success.

Follow their  adventure on the school social networks over the coming weeks!
